The Salt Valley of Añana (Basque Country – Spain) will host, from July 8 to 10, 2025, an intensive course aimed at training local actors in sustainable tourism, heritage enhancement and innovative planning tools. This training is part of activity A2.1 of the Interreg Sudoe HITTS project, focused on the training and support of local actors.

The objective of this action is to provide participants with key skills to design, manage and promote inclusive tourism models that are environmentally respectful and based on the value of cultural and natural heritage. The course also aims to train future trainers who will replicate the acquired knowledge in their own communities.

Over three days, topics such as the identification of tangible and intangible heritage, participatory governance, public-private cooperation, responsible entrepreneurship and the use of emerging technologies such as GIS, virtual and augmented reality or digital twins will be addressed. Innovative online teaching methodologies using LMS platforms will also be introduced.

Participants will gain practical knowledge tailored to their local reality, enhancing their heritage management and tourism attraction capabilities. Upon completion of the training, they will receive a participation certificate and may take part in future pilot actions of the HITTS project.

This training action marks another step towards a fairer, more innovative and locally rooted tourism model, connecting experiences from the southwest of Europe in Spain, Portugal and France.
