👨👩👧👦 The partners of the European project STOP IATRO met in Santander, Spain, from the 15th to the 17th for the official signing of the Interreg Sudoe Programme!
🤝 The CHU of Toulouse, project leader, is proud to cooperate with 5 entities distributed across 3 European countries (France, Spain, Portugal): CHU de Limoges, Pôle Biologie – Pharmacie | Fundació Salut i Envelliment | Fundación Pública Andaluza para la Investigación de Málaga en Biomedicina y Salud | Universidade de Aveiro – Departamento de Ciências Médicas | Instituto Politécnico da Guarda – Escola Superior de Saúde Unidade Técnico-Científica – Tecnologias da Saúde. The signing of this agreement marks the official funding of the project by the European Union (EU).
🎯 The STOP IATRO project aims to ensure that professionals involved in the medical care of elderly patients are aware of the risks related to iatrogenesis (adverse consequences of medical care on an individual’s health). The main objective of the project is to implement collective strategies to prevent complications associated with healthcare, which are responsible for the loss of autonomy in the elderly, relying particularly on the recommendations of the WHO (World Health Organization).
