New IPREM video showcases its work in the RESINSURF project for sustainable surface treatment solutions

Arnaud

The Institute of Analytical and Physical Chemistry Sciences for the Environment and Materials (IPREM), part of the University of Pau and the Adour Regions (UPPA) and the joint research center CNRS, has released a new explanatory video detailing its research activities. This video, available on YouTube, is part of the European project RESINSURF, coordinated by CIDETEC Surface Engineering, which aims to develop sustainable technologies for surface treatment. In the video, IPREM presents its research lines in physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and microbiology applied to the environment and materials, highlighting its role in developing efficient and eco-friendly technological solutions.

The IPREM stems from the collaboration between CNRS and UPPA, with a strong focus on scientific innovation and the development of advanced technologies to improve the environment, particularly in surface treatment and materials applications. A key aspect of its contribution to the RESINSURF project is the characterization of samples using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) obtained during the development of hexavalent chromium-free solutions, enabling the analysis of surface composition and properties essential for validating sustainable alternatives.

The RESINSURF project is part of the Interreg Sudoe Programme, which promotes transregional cooperation between research centers and institutions from southwestern European regions. Interreg Sudoe fosters interaction among institutions from different countries, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, resources, and experiences to boost innovative projects such as RESINSURF. Through this cooperation, it becomes possible to optimize efforts and accelerate the development of sustainable and competitive solutions in the fields of surface engineering and environmental treatment, benefitting the entire SUDOE region while overcoming territorial and technical barriers.
