The AgroSol project holds its first in-person meeting on November 24 and 25 in Burgos

Agrosol

The AgroSol project, an initiative approved under the Interreg SUDOE programme, will hold its first in-person meeting next Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 November at the Polytechnic University of Burgos, a partner entity and host of the event.

The aim of the project is to develop a sustainable model for clean energy in rural environments, focusing on small and medium-sized farms in which traditional crops can coexist with photovoltaic installations.

AgroSol, whose lead beneficiary is the École Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées (ESTIA), has a total eligible budget of €2,241,546, co-financed at 75% by the ERDF.

The project brings together 10 partners from Spain, France and Portugal, representing complementary fields such as research, agricultural innovation, energy and territorial development.

Over the two-day meeting, the partners will review the project’s initial progress, coordinate the development of the five agrovoltaic pilots planned across SUDOE territories, and tackle the upcoming technical and strategic milestones, including the preparation of a common future strategy for the deployment of sustainable agrovoltaic models on small and medium-sized farms.

The meeting in Burgos marks a key step in the operational launch of the project, strengthening transnational cooperation and consolidating the joint roadmap towards an agrovoltaic model that contributes to climate resilience, food sovereignty and territorial balance in the rural areas of southwestern Europe.
