Dr Paulo Santos Costa, PhD, is a researcher at the Nursing School of Coimbra. He is a certified Community Health Specialist Nurse, accredited by the Portuguese Nursing Board, and has completed postgraduate diplomas in Clinical Supervision and Gerontogeriatric Nursing. Since 2016, Dr Santos Costa has focused his research on the domains of healthy ageing and the development of medical devices through active end-user engagement. His multidisciplinary approach has extended beyond nursing science, culminating in the successful acquisition of over €7.5 million in research funding through collaborative consortia. His output includes more than 100 scientific publications, over 15 book chapters, and 9 granted patent applications.
