On 13 December 2024, IRTA presented the I-ReWater project. During the event, the progress made and the results of the first campaign in the Maials almond pilot project were discussed in an awareness-raising and knowledge transfer session held at INIA Catamarca (Argentina). During the visit to the centre, the work being carried out within the I-ReWater project was presented, and the importance of using reclaimed urban water to supplement irrigation doses, mainly for almond cultivation, was demonstrated.
For Catamarca, an Argentine region that produces nuts and has an arid climate with low rainfall, the results of I-ReWater are of great interest, as this type of project is highly valuable for ensuring the production and sustainability of irrigated agriculture.
